As you have probably figured out from the past two posts, Answers Systems is growing. Our growth is on several fronts: product enhancement, services, data volume, and headcount. Answers Systems has been sure to keep the hardware, networking, and infrastructure needs on par with this growth to ensure our ability to handle ever increasing complexity, data volume, and users.
Networking/Infrastructure
In May of 2008, Answers Systems invested a great deal of time and capital to improve our network infrastructure. We pride ourselves on our ability to manage a SAS 70 Level II audit compliant organization. We chose to move our primary data centers to the Airnet facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This tier-4 compliant data center offers data redundancy, power redundancy, with state-of-the-art fire and emergency management.
Because we understand the value of our customers’ data, we invested in the improvements in both network and general connectivity required to make this possible. In the coming months, we will be expanding our physical work environment to include a second office in Tennessee. This will enable us even quicker access to our customers (Chattanooga is a short flight to several critical hubs in the Midwest and Northeast).
Hardware
With growth and expansion comes the need to invest in the critical hardware makeup for our products and services. Our customers have come to expect fast page response times from our core products. Even with the increase of users of our products, we have been able to maintain and improve the average page response times of our products.
This, of course, comes at a cost (have you seen the price of a quad-core 256 mg RAM dual processor server lately? No? Not really up on server pricing?) That is why we are here . . . so you do not have to worry about it. Our investment in the very best hardware available today means you can trust the environment that stores your data and manages your most critical, customer relationships.
